Whooga ugg boots

I do not like UGGS I think they are ugly and they don't look nice with any outfit that I can think of. However... I do own a pair. They are my slippers/running to the shops to get milk shoes. I also wear them if I have an incredibly early start when I'm filming (I also wear my p.j's then but that's for another time).

I always thought that 'UGGs' were the real deal and all other boots that looked like them were fakes... I was wrong. It turns out that 'ugg' literally means a sheepskin boot. The UGG Australia ones that have become so popular are just another brand of sheepskin boot. Confused? It is explained better here.

I was sent these Whooga uggs and I have to say they are better then my "real" uggs. They are so bloody cosy. As most of you know I've been sick recently so these have been practically glued to my feet whilst I lay on the couch. The lining is lush and thick- which is exactly what you want from slippers that are socially acceptable to wear on the street.

Whooga are offering 100 Ring My Bell readers a $30 gift card to use on their site. Yep that's right I said 100 of you. The code is 515RINGMY. It will work for the first 100 people to use it.  Copy and paste the code.

  6. Haha ugg boots aren't meant to be a fashion statement they are simply slippers that people thought looked cool with mini-skirts for some reason

  8. I never quite understood the idea of designer ugg boots. It's incredibly cheap to buy good quality ones here in Australia...

  9. pink powder- I agree! I was shocked at how cheap these whooga ones were! UGGs are around £140 here in London and she has those ones up for $80 which is around £40.

Lansky- I once filmed in Canada. It was the coldest I've ever been in my life and my uggs never left my feet!

emlouise- lol! yeah why on earth people do that, I will never know!

  15. I wear them when it's cold out and I have to walk the dog, or run a quick errand. I can't argue enough the comfort level, just wish they were less clunky and akin to oversized marshmallows.. haha. ;)

  20. Hi Ash! I've always loved your blog, and now I'm leaving a comment for the first time!
I'll defenetly buy a pair, I don't think they're pretty but at the same time here (Italy) it's so cold in winter that I NEED them. Have you any idea where should I put the code on the website?
    :)

  21. violetdarko & Barbarella- whooga are having a 7 day 60% off sale at the moment so the code won't work until that sale is over.... The sale they are having makes them cheaper then if you used the gift card anyway!

*The code is entered at checkout*

  22. haha I'm sooo glad you posted this! When I went to the UK so many girls were like 'it must be so great living in Australia, you can get cheap UGG boots!'

I didn't know how to tell them that in Oz, uggs are what you wear with PJs when you want to be comfy...not a fashion statement with your Jack Wills outfit!

I've just made my order thanks to you!

  24. Sorry you have been ill :( The heat that we are having at the moment can't help either! It's way too hot! I have never liked Uggs either, I actually don't own a pair but that's really cool to know it just means sheepskin! I never knew that! The reason I don't like them is I take a size UK 7 and my legs are quite small so I actually look ridiculous wearing giant boots like that, it's really quite funny lol!
